Position SummaryThe Step-Down Navigator is responsible for meeting with all eligible patients to discuss the benefits of stepdown services as part of their continuum of care treatment. The Step-Down Navigator will be responsible for communicating eligibility to key members of senior leadership & associated departments and will be responsible for routinely collecting and entering data, specific to eligibility, into Midas for trending report purposes.
Job Duties/Responsibilities- The Step-Down Navigator will collaborate with the following departments:
- Clinical Services: To ensure the patient is clinically appropriate to participate in programming
- Business Office: To ensure the patient has covered benefits and to discuss copay responsibilities
- Inpatient Utilization Review: To ensure the patient is authorized to step-down to a different level of care
- Outpatient Services: To ensure the outpatient program is aware of the patient's anticipated admission date

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's Degree in mental health/behavioral sciences field preferred.
Experience: Minimum two (2) years experience in psychiatric/mental health field.
Licensure: N/A
Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful completion of Handle with Care training. Certification and training may be obtained during new hire orientation.
