Specific Duties and Responsibilities- The post holder will lead the strategic development, delivery and quality enhancement of the Phase 1 core curriculum (Years 1 and 2) for the MB BS programme at HYMS.
- Provide direct leadership and management for the academic staff directly involved in delivery of Problem Based Learning and Clinical Skills on the HYMS MB BS (the Clinical Educational Facilitators - CEFs) who deliver both PBL and Clinical Skills.
- Ensure alignment, delivery and assessment of the Phase 1 MB BS PBL and Clinical Skills Curriculum within Phase 1 and the wider MB BS and with PSRB requirements.
- Work across both university sites.
- Line manage the Local Deputy Directors of PBL & Clinical Skills in Hull and York (0.2FTE on each site).
Note:
The post will be 0.5FTE with a key requirement of this role is that the post holder is clinically active and that their clinical commitments will be at least 0.2FTE in addition.
The post holder will not have their own PBL or clinical skills groups but may, on occasion, be expected to provide cover for absent tutors. The postholder will also be expected to support key School activities including Open Days and MBBS Interviews for example.
