Director of Streets and Environment (Full Time)

Overview

Croydon is seeking a Director of Streets and Environment. This role leads frontline services for residents and businesses, ensuring service delivery at a price we can afford, and supports the council in its transformation programme and new target operating model, with a digital-first approach.

Location: Croydon, London. Salary: £129,901 - £135,064. Job type: Full Time. This role expires on 14/09/2025.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain operational grip across both insourced and outsourced services.
• Manage key service contracts and ensure delivery to required standards and cost targets.
• Lead the council-wide transformation programme and champion the new target operating model, with a focus on digital-first delivery.
• Collaborate with political and officer leadership to sustain progress toward a financially stable future for residents and businesses.

• Track record of leading the delivery of frontline services within a local authority context.
