Job Description
Founded in 2017, Timescapes is transforming how construction teams build. We enable project teams to track, validate, and communicate progress with real-time reality capture. Our customers love us. Why? We keep them on schedule, helping them communicate project milestones for everyone involved with ease.

We're a rapidly growing company, used by the largest construction companies across Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States. We have offices and teams in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and soon, the USA.

Purpose With strong traction in our key markets already, Timescapes has bold global ambitions. We're seeking a People leader who understands the global landscape reshaping talent, culture, and leadership, and who is excited to build people practices that set a new standard. This is a rare opportunity to design a future-focused People function that enables us to attract and grow world-class talent as we scale globally.

This is a newly created role reporting directly to the co-founder & CEO, Chester Boyes. You'll be someone who's equally comfortable operating strategically and rolling up your sleeves to get things done. You'll lead the end-to-end People function, with the initial focus on building our employer brand, recruitment excellence, and performance and development.

Key Responsibilities Strategic People Leadership
  • Scaling with intent: Define, champion, and drive Timescapes' people and culture strategy by bringing a scaling mindset to how Timescapes builds its People function - understanding what matters most at each stage of growth, and putting the right building blocks in place at the right time.
  • Culture Champion: Evolve and nurture Timescape's culture and ensure Timescapes' values are embedded in all people practices, decision-making, and day-to-day operations.
  • Organisational Development & Change: Work with leaders to design and evolve organisational structures that enable business objectives, anticipating future needs as we scale. Lead organisational change initiatives with clarity and empathy, ensuring clear communication and compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Executive Advisory & Reporting: Act as trusted advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on all people-related matters. Prepare and present executive and Board updates tracking people metrics, organizational health indicators, and strategic initiatives.
  • Internal Coaching and Development: Develop and support internal coaching programme, building leadership, management and hiring capability within the leadership team (current and future managers). This includes running effective development plans, how to give effective feedback, DEI and how to leverage differences, team dynamics and strengths etc.
Talent Acquisition
  • Employer Brand & Talent Strategy: Build and execute Timescapes' employer brand strategy and talent acquisition plans that build high-quality, diverse talent pipelines and ensure inclusive hiring practices.
  • Recruitment Excellence: Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes ensuring an exceptional candidate experience and efficient and effective hiring, jumping in hands-on to directly recruit some roles. Build internal recruitment capability through documentation, toolkits, workshops, and templates for hiring managers.
  • Global Mobility: Develop and manage our global mobility strategy including immigration, visa processes, and relocation support, ensuring compliance when hiring or relocating employees offshore. Global Collaboration with Hiring Managers to lead cross-functional, dispersed teams to ensure consistent, high-quality PX experiences across different regions.
  • Brand Advocacy: Be a strong brand advocate for Timescapes, including attending events, networks, speaking and promoting Timescapes while also identifying where Timescapes needs to be present globally, supporting managers to attend.
Employee Engagement & Lifecycle
  • Building High-Performance Teams: Set the philosophy and people processes that enable individuals and teams at Timescapes to drive maximum impact as we scale globally. This includes defining what high performance looks like and ensuring expectations, feedback, and accountability are clear, fair, and future-focused.
  • Engagement & Listening: Design and implement engagement strategies, including the establishment of regular surveys, pulse checks, and feedback mechanisms. Partner with leaders to analyse data and implement targeted initiatives, including recognition programs that celebrate wins and reinforce values.
  • Growth & Development: Create development approaches that accelerate growth for both the business and its people, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and getting 1% better everyday. Ensure feedback, development, and progression are tightly aligned to Timescapes' strategy, values, and evolving needs, so exceptional people can grow their impact as the company grows.
  • Compensation & Rewards: Develop competitive, equitable compensation structures (salary, benefits, equity) that fairly reward our team, align with our values, and support engagement, retention, and recruitment across geographies. Manage related processes.
People Operations & Systems
  • HRIS & Systems: Implement and optimise best-in-class people systems and technology that improve efficiency, data accuracy, and employee experience across the full employee lifecycle.
  • People Analytics: Report on prioritised key metrics (e.g. turnover, engagement, diversity, performance, development, recruitment effectiveness) that provide visibility and insight into team sentiment and the effectiveness of people practices.
  • Process Excellence: Build and refine people processes that scale efficiently, reduce administrative burden, and enable managers to lead their teams effectively.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the people function budget, ensuring strong ROI for initiatives.
Compliance
  • Employment Law Compliance: Ensure compliance with employment legislation across all operating jurisdictions, managing relationships with legal counsel and local market experts as needed.

This is a global role, with both domestic and international travel required. We are looking for someone to apply strong judgement to where time, energy, and investment will have the greatest impact.
