Director of Nursing - Cork

PE Global Healthcare in partnership with our client, a leading hospital in Cork City, are currently recruiting a Director of Nursing.

About the Role

As Director of Nursing, you will be a key member of the Senior Executive Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. You will provide strategic leadership for Nursing services within the Hospital while contributing to the wider strategic direction of the Hospital.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for all nursing services
• Contribute at Executive level to the Hospitals strategic plan and operational performance
• Advise the CEO and Senior Executive Team on nursing and clinical care matters
• Drive excellence in patient safety, quality, and clinical outcomes and a culture that promotes patient safety and high standards of ethical conduct
• Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing nursing workforce
• Promote innovation and champion a quality improvement culture that drives continuous quality and business improvement across the Hospital
• Strengthen clinical governance, audit, risk management, and regulatory compliance

Professional Qualifications, Experience

• Registered General Nurse with active registration with NMBI AND
• Significant senior nursing leadership experience (minimum 7-10 years) in acute healthcare in a hospital of sufficient scale and complexity AND
• Proven ability to operate effectively at executive and strategic level
• Postgraduate qualification in Nursing, Healthcare Management, or related discipline
• Strong track record in clinical governance, quality improvement, and organisational change
• Excellent leadership, influencing, change management and stakeholder engagement capabilities
