Job Description:The Director of Medical Engagement and Scientific Congress Lead is responsible for leading the implementation of congress and external engagement strategies for the Solid Tumor US Medical Affairs team at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Oncology. This individual will oversee planning and execution of medical conference strategies by collaborating with internal stakeholders (US Medical Affairs, Global Medical Affairs, Commercial) and will report to the Head of Clinical Operations and Program Management. The candidate should be a strategic, self-driven leader with strong communication, time management, and conflict resolution skills to ensure compliance and timely delivery of congress materials. Vendor management and external engagement strategies are also key responsibilities, involving collaboration with key institution leads to identify partnership opportunities.
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Establish and lead medical engagement and congress strategies, coordinate stakeholder engagements, manage budgets, and ensure financial reconciliation.
- Regional Conference Strategy: Develop regional strategies to maximize engagement with opinion leaders and identify new congress opportunities.
- Partnerships: Collaborate with internal teams and global medical affairs to align on content, design, and logistics for conferences.
- Cross-functional Partnership: Ensure activities are compliant with legal and regulatory policies, and share best practices across teams.
- Flawless Implementation: Continuously improve congress content, establish relationships with congress associations, and coordinate engagement plans.
- Executive Engagements: Plan and execute outreach with key institutions in partnership with field medical and account teams.
- Leadership: Prepare senior leadership for conferences and provide onsite support.
- Agency Management: Manage external vendors to align content with strategy.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree with 8+ years of pharmaceutical experience.
- Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with congress strategies, vendor management, and oncology knowledge is preferred.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 25%.
The position offers a competitive, performance-based compensation package, including an annual bonus. The estimated base salary range is $160,000 - $276,000.
