Director of Environment & Regulatory Services

We are recruiting a Director of Environment & Regulatory Services at Caerphilly County Borough Council

Working hours: 37 hours per week Contract type: Full Time, Permanent Location: Penallta House

This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organisation.

Salary: £101,443 - £112,480 (inclusive of the Local Government Pension Scheme, agile working patterns and staff discount schemes)

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the Council's Environment & Regulatory Service in terms of strategy and management responsibility.
• Ensure high quality, customer focused services across the portfolio.
• Support the achievement of the Council's strategic direction and objectives.
• Strategic leadership across the following areas: Environmental Health, Trading Standards, Licensing, Registrars, Sport & Leisure, Community Centres, Green Spaces & Cemeteries, Emergency Planning, Community Safety.
• Set, model, and embed a culture that reflects the organisation's values and behaviours.
• Develop strong working relationships to overcome obstacles and support staff to deliver tangible customer benefits.

Requirements for the role

• A professional degree qualification in a relevant discipline.
• A post graduate management qualification, or willingness to work towards obtaining one.
• Chartered membership of a recognised relevant professional institution.
• Knowledge of the policy and operational issues confronting Environment and Regulatory services, and local government generally.
• Experience of senior management and leadership.
