We're looking for a Director of Engineering to lead and grow our engineering organisation, shaping team structure, improving delivery, and ensuring we build the right systems in the right way. This is a senior leadership role for someone who enjoys building high performing teams, bringing clarity to complex environments, and translating strategy into predictable execution.

As Director of Engineering, you will be accountable for engineering delivery, team health, maturity and standards. You will work closely with the CTO, Product, and senior stakeholders to turn strategy into outcomes, while creating an environment where engineers can do their best work.
This role is people and systems focused, not hands on coding, though strong technical credibility is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Design and evolve the engineering team structure in line with our roadmap, including squads, domains, and reporting lines. Hire and retain high quality engineering talent
- Build, develop, and manage Engineers, Engineering Managers and technical leaders.
- Partner with Product and the CTO to align roadmaps, capacity, and delivery commitments
- Ensure engineering teams consistently deliver high quality, production ready systems
- Foster an inclusive, supportive environment where engineers can grow and thrive
- Contribute to a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Significant experience leading engineering teams at scale
- Proven track record of building and managing engineering managers and teams, including offshore and outsourced resources.
- Strong understanding of software delivery in complex, data heavy systems
- Technical background sufficient to credibly challenge and support architectural decisions
- Ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous or evolving environments
- Experience leading teams through modernisation, transformation, or platform evolution
- Background in SaaS, platform, or data driven systems
- Familiarity with cloud native platforms and distributed systems (at an oversight level)
- Experience in the intellectual property or brand protection space
