Director in Residence

Brighton College is seeking a Director in Residence to start in September 2026. The role will support a thriving drama department with state of the art facilities and a wide range of productions and activities.

Department Overview

The Department offers a range of productions (Senior, Lower Sixth, Middle School, Year 9, Year 8, Year 7) and clubs such as improvisation, young writers, scholars workshops, theatre design, and outreach. The team includes three full time teaching staff, a Drama PGAT, a Director in Residence, and four LAMDA teachers.

Responsibilities

• Direct two productions a year, varying each year.
• Work with theatre staff to support pupil stage crews in the production process.
• Commit to and promote equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Commit to safeguarding and promote the welfare of children, including completing required safeguarding training and staying up to date with College updates.
• Comply with procedures and legislation relating to confidentiality.
