The Director, Group, Meetings & Events (GM&E) will lead Hilton's GM&E strategy for the UK & Ireland, focusing on intermediary agencies and group direct segments. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, fostering strong customer relationships, and ensuring Hilton remains an innovative leader in the meetings and events space. The position requires collaboration with stakeholders across agency partners and corporate group direct accounts while leading and motivating a high performing sales team.
Work Location: Hilton - Regional Headquarters, Europe - Maple Court, Central Park, Reeds Crescent, Watford, WD24 4QQ.
Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership - Develop and execute the GM&E strategy for UK & Ireland across intermediary agencies and group direct channels. Monitor market trends and adapt strategies to maintain Hilton's competitive edge.
- Stakeholder Engagement - Build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners and corporate group direct clients. Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver seamless contracting processes and master service agreements.
- Team Management - Lead, coach, and inspire a sales team to achieve and exceed performance targets. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
- Innovation & Market Insight - Drive innovation in GM&E offerings to meet evolving customer needs. Stay informed on industry trends, technology advancements, and competitor activity.
- Customer Focus - Ensure exceptional customer engagement and satisfaction through proactive communication and tailored solutions. Leverage insights to strengthen Hilton's position as a trusted partner for meetings and events.
- Relevant above property experience in Group, Meetings & Events sales or related field.
- Proven track record in people management, inspiring and leading a sales team.
- Strong understanding of contracting processes and master service agreements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship building skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving market conditions.
- Highly collaborative mindset with ability to positively add value to engagement, internally and externally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and preferably Salesforce.
- Strong negotiation skills to maximize value for internal and external partners.
- Ability to travel (up to 20%).
Additional advantage: knowledge of international markets and proven success working in a matrix organization.
