I need help managing my emotions when I feel overwhelmed, frustrated or challenged at home or in the community. I need the right support in place to help prevent me becoming dysregulated. I need consistent, trusted people to support me.
The successful candidate will:
- Support engagement in activities and community participation.
- Promote social interaction, inclusion, and independence.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance when needed.
- Assist with attending appointments and activities.
- Help maintain safety within the community.
- Support the individual to achieve their goals and aspirations.
The suitable candidate will:
- Be reliable, committed, and supportive.
- Be able to build a positive and trusting working relationship.
- Have experience of supporting children or young people with additional needs.
- DBS and reference checks will be required. Costs will be met by the local authority.
Children and Young People, Specialist Services Direct Payments is an in-house service provided by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council to support families of Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to fulfil their potential and aspirations.
Whilst caring experience is always useful, you don't necessarily need to have worked in care to be a great Direct Payment Worker, the right attitude and a person-centred approach is more important.
TravelSome travel across East Riding of Yorkshire may be required, applicants must be able to transport themselves.
