Our client, a leading medical device manufacturer, based in North County Dublin has instructed us to search for a Direct Materials Buyer. The chosen candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of direct material suppliers and support its manufacturing operation. This is a 12 month contract role, with strong possibilities of extension.

Duties Your tasks and responsibilities
  • Purchase material to support production and service inline with business needs.
  • Maximise the use of 'Lean supply' methods to meet delivery and inventory objectives.
  • Monitor key metrics in the areas of on time delivery, inventory, cost, quality and service to achieve agreed targets with suppliers.
  • Lead all significant issue resolution programmes with suppliers in conjunction with Engineering and Quality
Your qualifications and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline (QQI level 8).
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience within Procurement, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of dealing with a broad range of supplier organisations across Europe, Asia and North America.

  • You have a good working knowledge of procurement methods, tools, processes and reports.
  • You are a problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
