Direct Marketing Manager

This exciting role will be an important addition to the Digital Marketing team, which oversees the direct communication to Premier League fans through email, content and mobile marketing, as well as native digital promotional campaigns.
You will be expected to play an important role in the enhancement of the Premier League's direct-to-fan offering, contributing to wider objectives of the Digital Media department. You will be responsible for managing the delivery of the day-to-day direct communication strategy, as well as liaising with key internal and external stakeholders to promote the Premier League's and partner's various products.
The roleThe role will involve, but is not limited to, the following duties:
- Campaign management: Managing all aspects of direct marketing communications, from planning to execution, with a focus on email marketing and app push notifications.
- Strategy implementation: Assisting the Senior Digital Marketing Manager with the ongoing development of the direct marketing communications strategy, ensuring it's actioned across campaigns by the wider team.
- Performance analysis: Working with the Data & Analytics team to track performance and results of direct marketing communications to ensure engaging and informative content is delivered to fans appropriately.
- Growth and personnel development: Overseeing the responsibilities of the Digital Marketing Executives alongside supporting their career growth and skills development.
- Working experience: At least five years' experience in developing and executing direct marketing campaigns, with knowledge of collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders at one time.
- Multi-channel orchestration: Knowledge of various direct marketing channels, including email, push & in-app notifications, while knowledge of web notifications and mobile messaging marketing, such as Messenger or WhatsApp, is useful.
- Marketing Automation: Familiarity with marketing automation tools and platforms, including awareness of integrating with other marketing technologies.
- Strategic awareness: Understanding of segmentation and targeting strategies, as well as executing data-driven analysis in support of a wider team strategy.
- Ideation: Curiosity and willingness to explore and recommend new and innovative digital marketing methods.
- Natural team player: Desire to support colleagues and broader success of the team.
- Copywriting experience: Highly competent copywriter in English with experience of crafting engaging stories and messages for marketing purposes.
- Attention to detail: A keen eye for detail and high standards in execution is required to protect the global reputation of the organisation.
- Digital know-how: A knowledge of, and keen interest in, the digital landscape from targeted marketing through to latest industry trends and technology.
- Passion: An interest in sport and sports fandom. Understanding of the media sector and relationships between rights holders, broadcasters, partners and the media is useful. Football knowledge helpful, but not essential.
Desirables:
- Experience of playing Fantasy Premier League is preferable and/or experience with eCommerce campaigns, including sales marketing copywriting.
