Main duties of the job

AsDigital Support Manager, you will oversee both the technical and reportingteams responsible for maintaining, optimising, whilst working in partnershipwith Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Digital IT Team (DiT). You willensure seamless day-to-day operations, lead troubleshooting and incidentmanagement, lead digital projects and drive continuous improvements in systemperformance and user experience.

Yourleadership will be crucial in:

  • Managing a diverse team of digitalspecialists and analysts
  • Co-ordinating system upgrades andintegrations
  • Developing robust reportingframeworks to support clinical and operational decision-making.
  • Collaborating with cross-functionalstakeholders including LTHT DiT, clinical teams, and external vendors
  • Ensuring compliance with NHS datagovernance and security standards

Job responsibilities

ThePostholder will manage the information and reporting systems that support theoperation of MMPS. This will involve all aspects of digital work and includemanagement and supervision of the digital Reporting and TechnicalSpecialists. The Postholder will work with the Associate Lead ClinicianDigital to identify and meet new demands for digital based services withinMMPS and beyond providing technical insight whilst leading development workon reporting and leading digital implementation projects.

Thepostholder will:

Be responsible for the provision ofa rapid-response - Digital Support service to MMPS (approximately 750 staff)and to manage the work of Pharmacy Digital Support Staff in their provisionof a Digital Support service.

Take responsibility for maintainingthe ongoing operation of all Pharmacy Digital systems: ensuring properinstallation, performance, security, backup, audit and reporting services.

Undertake systems analysis inconnection with proposed new systems and produce specifications fordevelopers / suppliers.

Undertake research and development/ programming work in connection with new / replacement Digital systems.

Take responsibility for liaisonwith the Trusts Digital IT Team and other suppliers/service providers andensuring the proper adoption and adherence to Trust policies.

Share the responsibility fortraining, with a particular focus on IT skills development within thedepartment.

Carry out the role of MMPS, ProductOwner for the Helix IT Service Management software.

Be the bridge between technical andclinical when delivering IT solutions.

  • A proven disposition for Service Roles, with a helpful and co-operative nature.
  • Ability to cope with a high and unpredictable workload, meet objectives, be accountable.
  • Able to manage resources to meet timescales.
  • Ability to inspire positive attitudes and co-operative behaviour in colleagues when implementing Trust-wide IT initiatives.
  • Ability to diagnose and take the lead in managing unfamiliar and serious situations at short notice.
Qualifications
  • Educated to Degree Level or holds a recognised qualification in an IT or Business related discipline.
  • Has acquired further update qualifications since graduation.
Experience
  • Knowledge of the various Business, Personnel and Technical issues associated with the delivery of an digital support service. Systems Analysis / Design / Programming / PC support / Diagnostic skills.
  • Experience of Managing IT systems at a senior level within a large organisation.
  • Experience of formulating technical standards and operational procedures.
  • Experience of management.
  • Knowledge of the Pharmacy Management System.
  • Knowledge of: SQL, ODBC, PCs, Windows Servers, Networking, Backup,Web development: IIS, ASP, ASP.NET, SQL Server Active Directory MS 365 (particularly Power Bi), Crystal Reports.
  • Substantial IT experience, at least 2 years at a senior level.
Additional Requirements
  • Competence in PC / Printer fault diagnosis / component replacement.
