Job Summary

At PHOENIX, we have ambitious plans to digitalise our core business and are expanding our in-house development capabilities to meet this challenge. We're passionate believers in the benefits of low code, and our platform of choice is OutSystems. Initially, we're focusing on the UK, but we have ambitions to create a competence centre and offer OutSystems capabilities to the wider European PHOENIX Group.

We're a key player in the UK healthcare market, operating over 300 pharmacies and a national distribution network supplying medicines to thousands of pharmacies, doctors, and hospitals daily. You'll have the opportunity to develop your skills while contributing to the health of the nation.

As a Digital Developer, you will work with customers to understand business problems and opportunities. Using the OutSystems low code platform, you will design, build, and deploy innovative digital solutions, participating in all stages from initial idea to launch and supporting applications in line with DevOps principles.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with your team to create customer journey maps, understanding customer experiences, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Work directly with customers to create wireframes and prototypes exploring potential solutions.
  • Build solutions using the OutSystems Low Code Application Platform.
  • Integrate with other business applications via RESTful APIs.
  • Perform QA, including writing integration tests.
  • Conduct usability testing.
  • Troubleshoot live applications.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Essential:
    • Proficiency in web-based languages: HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
    • Good understanding of relational database concepts and SQL.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience with OutSystems or similar low code platforms, or traditional development experience in C# or Java.
    • OutSystems training will be provided for those transitioning from traditional development.
    • Experience with lean or agile methodologies and tools such as Jira.
    • QA experience, particularly writing and executing unit and integration tests.
    • OutSystems certification.
