Job overviewWe are seeking radiographers with sound radiographic experience who will contribute positively and enthusiastically to the professional running and future development of the department. The post is suitable for a radiographer keen to experience a wide range of modalities and to support and develop the 7 day service whilst working with state of the art equipment and optimising image techniques across clinical and research fields.
The role will involve rotation through modalities such as CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology and General X ray, to be discussed depending on individual experience and interests. Other rotations, including PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine, may also be considered.
Out of hours, weekend working and night shifts will be required in accordance with the rotation schedule.
Main duties of the jobSupport and develop the 7 day service across the department.
- Deliver high quality imaging across a range of modalities including CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology, General X ray, PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine.
- Optimize image techniques in collaboration with clinical teams.
- Participate in clinical and research activities, including supporting new protocols and technology.
- Provide patient care and support other team members as required.
- Adhere to all safety, infection control and quality assurance procedures.

Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesRadiographers will work across modalities and locations, including on call commitments at the Churchill Hospital site or other OUH sites as required. Rotation will be based on individual experience and service demands.
The department provides imaging across many specialities, including Oncology, Radiotherapy, Breast, Renal, Urology, Transplantation, Chest Medicine, GI, Head & Neck, Haematology, and Infectious Diseases. Equipment includes a 64 slice GE CT scanner, a 256 slice GE CT scanner, two GE MRI scanners (1.5T & 3T), two flat plate interventional rooms, two PET/CT scanners, two Gamma Cameras (SPECT CT), four ultrasound rooms, a lithotripsy unit and five DR GE Definium HD rooms.
Person specification Experience / Qualifications- BSc (Hons) in Radiography or equivalent.
- State registered Radiographer.
- Experience managing workloads in a busy department.
- Proficient on GE platforms.
- Knowledge of NHS procedures and policies.
- Demonstrated professional development in radiography.
- IV cannulation course completed.
- Experience in CT, MR or interventional imaging.
