ink Search are working with a leading financial services, trading oriented organisation that is building and evolving a modern desktop interoperability platform used across multiple Front Office and trading teams. This role sits at the intersection of desktop application development and web technologies, enabling complex desktop and web apps to communicate seamlessly in Real Time. This is a specialist position suited to engineers who enjoy solving hard integration problems, working close to end users, and shaping how applications behave together on the desktop.

If you have hands-on experience with Glue42/interop.io or OpenFin and a strong Front End or desktop engineering background, this is an opportunity to work on a genuinely sophisticated desktop ecosystem.

The Role

As a Desktop Interoperability Engineer, you will:

Design, build and maintain desktop interoperability solutions using Glue42/interop.io or OpenFin

Enable Real Time communication between WPF desktop applications and web applications

Work closely with application teams to onboard existing apps into the interoperability framework

Develop and maintain shared UI components and services using React, JavaScript, TypeScript

Contribute to WPF-based desktop components where required

Define and promote best practices around desktop integration, application life cycle, and inter-app communication

Collaborate with traders, product owners and engineers to deliver low-latency, high-reliability desktop tooling

Troubleshoot complex cross-application issues in production environments

This is a hands-on engineering role with real influence over architecture and standards.

Core Requirements

Proven, hands-on experience with Glue42/interop.io or OpenFin in a production environment

Strong understanding of desktop interoperability concepts

Front End development experience with JavaScript and TypeScript
