Job Description

Join Conack, one of Ireland's fastest-growing construction companies, delivering award-winning projects across multiple sectors. We are looking for an experienced Design Manager (Architectural Background) to lead the design and coordination of Design & Build projects across Ireland.

This role offers the opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle, from tender and design development through to construction and handover, delivering high-quality, compliant, and innovative projects in a collaborative environment.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and manage the design process from tender through to project completion

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, and specialist designers

  • Ensure design deliverables align with programme, budget, and project requirements

  • Chair and lead design team meetings and workshops

  • Manage design programmes and information flow in line with project timelines

  • Ensure compliance with building regulations, planning, and statutory requirements (BCAR, FSC, DAC)

  • Review drawings, specifications, and technical submissions

  • Drive value engineering and buildability solutions

  • Oversee BIM coordination and digital design processes (ISO 19650)

  • Manage subcontractor and supplier design packages and approvals

  • Identify and resolve design risks, clashes, and coordination issues

  • Support site teams with RFIs, technical queries, and construction-stage design

  • Carry out site inspections to ensure design intent and quality standards are achieved

What We're Looking For
  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline

  • 5+ years' experience in a Design Manager or Senior Architectural role

  • Experience leading Design & Build projects ranging from €50 - €100 million

  • Experience delivering Design & Build construction projects

  • Strong knowledge of Irish Building Regulations and BCAR processes

  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams

  • Knowledge of BIM and digital project delivery (ISO 19650)

  • Strong attention to detail, quality, and design coordination

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
