Design & Technology Teacher - Special SchoolBirmingham Salary up to UPS1 QTS Essential This awesome Birmingham SEND school is seeking an experienced Design & Technology Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach within a SEND setting that offers outstanding facilities, small classes and a highly supportive staff team.This role requires a confident and skilled teacher who can deliver engaging, practical lessons tailored to students with additional needs. You will play a key role in helping young people develop practical skills, independence and confidence through a creative and inclusive curriculum. Experience is a SEND setting is desirable, however not essential for the right candidate. As this is a small department you must be capable of working independently and detailing all planning and teaching responsibilities. Unfortunately this school is currently unable to consider an ECT for this Design & Technology Teacher role.The Role:
- Teaching Design & Technology to students within a specialist SEND setting
- Planning and delivering practical, engaging and differentiated lessons
- Adapting teaching approaches to meet a wide range of learning needs
- Supporting students to develop practical skills and independence
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and wider staff
- Creating a safe, structured and positive learning environment
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
- Strong experience teaching Design & Technology
- Previous experience working with SEND students (desirable)
- Excellent classroom management and behaviour support skills
- The ability to plan creative lessons for mixed ability learners
