Job Description
The Public Space Service (SEP) is composed of uniformed personnel responsible for managing public space within the municipal territory of the City of Geneva. In this context, it examines requests especially related to opening work sites, terraces, or advertising processes. Also responsible for managing all events held on the municipal territory, SEP contributes to making Geneva a dynamic and lively city. To complete its team, SEP is looking for an Assistant Unit Chief of Temporary Occupancies at 100%.Your mission and responsibilities:- Assist the unit chief in managing the unit, ensuring quality and participating in defining priorities and objectives.- Contribute to internal procedures and monitor their implementation in both public and private domains.- Supervise the handling of complex files, particularly those involving sensitive or major issues with specific technical constraints, ensure follow-up of their progress on site, and advise and support event organizers.- Participate in technical meetings on site and interdepartmental working groups, and ensure coordination with various stakeholders (municipal services, residents, etc.).- Verify, validate, and sign documents issued by the unit, and develop monitoring tools and activity reports.- Participate in the recruitment of new staff.- Work occasionally on weekends or outside regular hours as needed.- Ensure continuity of the unit in the absence of the unit chief and coordinate unit activities.Profile:- Hold a diploma from a business school or an equivalent qualification.- Have confirmed experience, ideally in a public service and in a similar position.- Master common tools and demonstrate excellent writing skills.- Exhibit rigor and a strong sense of responsibility while valuing teamwork and acting autonomously.- Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders due to strong interpersonal skills and a keen sense of public service.- Apply coherence in decision-making to contribute to harmonious management of public space.Conditions and Application Procedure:Application deadline: Start date: to be agreed uponJob classification: Class I of the pay scaleThe application file must include the following items:- Cover letter and curriculum vitae, or, failing that, a completed Job Application form (to be downloaded from our website).- Copies of diplomas and work certificates.- Recent passport-sized photo.
