Deputy Plant Manager

Location: Kent

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000

Overview

A fantastic opportunity has come to market for a Deputy Plant Manager to join a large and heavily invested industrial processing site. The business has continued to grow and invest in both its infrastructure and people, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced operations professional to join a highly automated and fast paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Operations Manager with the safe, compliant and efficient day to day running of the facility.
  • Play a key part in maintaining operational performance, leading teams, driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance are achieved across the site.
  • Operate within a 24/7 environment, supporting outages, overseeing permit systems, managing contractors and stepping into the Operations Manager position in their absence.

Non Negotiable Requirements
  • Minimum HNC qualification within a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent operational experience.
  • Supervisory experience within ideally a heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience working within a power generation, utilities, process manufacturing or heavy industrial environment in the UK.
  • Experience working with permit to work systems and operational procedures.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience leading investigations into incidents, accidents and near misses.
  • Ability to influence, motivate and develop teams.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and CMMS/ERP systems.
  • Flexible approach to working within a 24/7 operational environment.
