As Deputy Nursery Manager you'll support the Nursery Manager and lead a team of educators to deliver outstanding education and customer service. You'll encourage innovative teaching and take lead on operations when the Nursery Manager is away, driving Wildly Important Goals (WIGs), improving our processes and helping us become the most loved early years group in the UK.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Create a safe, welcoming, inclusive environment where everyone can thrive as a team.
  • Support the Nursery Manager to ensure the team delivers outstanding education in line with the N Pedagogy and Curriculum.
  • Champion safeguarding and wellbeing, acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead when needed.
  • Oversee health and safety, risk assessments and EYFS compliance.
  • Coach, guide and motivate the team through regular feedback and professional development.
  • Support staffing and operations - from interviews and rotas to helping in rooms when needed.
  • Champion continuous improvement, keeping practice fresh, creative and outstanding.
  • Bring positivity, flexibility and passion to everything you do.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience in a nursery leadership role (Deputy Manager, Third in Charge or Nursery Manager).
  • Experience in retaining and hiring new team members.
  • Knowledge of local authority and regulatory requirements and inspection processes across the UK.
  • Experience managing budgets, capacity and team deployment, performance management and reporting metrics.
  • Background in delivering consistent exceptional customer service.
  • Full Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
  • Paediatric First Aid (12 hours), First Aid at Work and commitment to remain compliant.
  • Relevant safeguarding/child protection training, regularly updated.
  • Passion for education and changing children's lives.
  • Excellent communication with parents, external professionals, colleagues and children.
  • Strong decision-making ability and ability to support WIGs.
