About the RoleWe are looking for a Deputy Nurse Manager to join a family owned business committed to excellence, compassion and innovation. Our mission is to deliver high quality, person centred care tailored to each individual's unique journey. As Deputy Manager, you'll work closely alongside the Registered Manager to lead the day to day running of the service, covering care, catering, housekeeping, laundry and maintenance functions.
You will champion a person centred culture, drive quality and compliance, and step up to lead the home in the manager's absence. This is a hands on leadership role where you'll make a real difference - not just to the people we care for, but to the staff team around you.
What You'll Be Doing- Leading and supporting clinical and care teams to deliver consistently high quality, compassionate care
- Supporting the Registered Manager with budgets, rotas, audits and quality assurance
- Supervising, appraising and developing heads of department and frontline staff
- Investigating concerns and complaints in line with safeguarding processes
- Ensuring full CQC compliance and maintaining accurate, up to date records
- Building strong relationships with residents, families, health professionals and external agencies
- Deputising for the Registered Manager when required
- Active NMC registration (RGN or RMN) - essential
- NVQ Level 3 or above - essential
- Previous experience in a similar care home or residential setting
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Strong communication, leadership and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of rota planning and skill mix management
- Up to date Flu and Covid vaccinations
- A genuine commitment to person centred, values based care
- A management qualification (or willingness to work towards one) - desirable
5 days over a 7 day period, including on call duties as agreed. Flexibility may be required at times, with advance notice and appropriate compensation provided.
