Deputy Manager

Join our organization as a residential home manager to support children and young people in our homes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to deliver high quality care to our young people
• Ensure that all risks are safely managed in line with company policies and procedures
• Communicate effectively with the team regarding the plans for the day
• Review the young people's care plans and other associated documentation
• Participate in an in depth quality and bespoke training package
• Attend or chair staff meetings and be proactive in developing and improving the service model
• Act as an advocate for the young person while using a positive parenting model
• Work with young people using positive support strategies, including de escalation tools and techniques (PRICE training)
• Provide support to the Manager in completing day to day tasks
• Run the home in the absence of the Manager
• Complete on call duties as and when required

Qualifications

• Positive parenting experience
• Exceptional communication skills
• Sound working knowledge of current legislation (e.g., Children's Homes Regulations 2015, including quality standards)
• Experience in supporting and supervising staff teams
• Must be prepared to complete a Diploma Level 5 Children's Residential Care
• Open minded, empathetic, calm and professional manner
• Ability to attend meetings on behalf of the Manager in a professional manner
• Full manual driving licence required
• Fully flexible and able to work unsociable shift patterns
• Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent
• Desire to develop into a Registered Children's Home Manager
• Commitment to further continuing professional development supporting the needs of our young people
• Clear passion and desire to support children and young people
• Active member of a progressive and committed team
