City St George's is seeking an outstanding clinician educator to take on the role of Deputy Director of Curriculum Development for the MBBS programme. This is a new academic leadership role created to strengthen and expand curriculum leadership capacity, reflecting the growing scope and complexity of managing a large integrated medical curriculum and supporting the continued development and renewal of the programme.
Responsibilities- Support the Director of Curriculum Development in overseeing the management and coordination of curriculum content across all years of the MBBS programme.
- Contribute to curriculum review, renewal and development across modules, placements and themes, maintaining alignment and coherence.
- Support the curriculum renewal cycle and the development of core curriculum documentation and frameworks.
- Deputise for the Director at programme governance meetings, contribute to horizon scanning and new initiatives, and engage with student feedback and improvement processes.
- Registered medical practitioner with relevant postgraduate qualifications and significant experience in medical education.
- Experience in curriculum design, review and development in undergraduate medical education.
- Knowledge of the principles of medical education and of regulatory and quality requirements.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work within complex organisational relationships.
