Deputy Director of Adult Social Services (Deputy DASS)
Location: Hybrid - minimum three days on site per week, Monday-Friday; evening and occasional weekend attendance required
Contract: 3 months + Extension

This is a *England* based role with an excellent immediate start within a Global Consulting company working on *providing senior strategic leadership and ensuring the delivery of high-performing, person-centred Adult Social Care services.*
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Deputy Director of Adult Social Services (Deputy DASS) to provide senior strategic leadership and ensure the delivery of high-performing, person-centred Adult Social Care services. Supporting the statutory Director of Adult Social Services (DASS), the successful candidate will act as a key advisor across the entire Adult Social Care system, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met and high-quality services are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
The Deputy DASS will:

Ensure continuity, resilience, and excellence in Adult Social Care service delivery.

Provide strategic oversight and support to the three Localities, embedding accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

Maintain consistent delivery across localities to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and organisational standards.

Lead the client's contribution to the Neighbourhood Health Service, integrating Adult Social Care into neighbourhood team design and delivery.

Develop and embed a strong performance culture, driving improvements in outcomes for residents.

Champion innovation, workforce development, digital transformation, and community co-production.

Strengthen neighbourhood integration through collaborative leadership and robust systems.

Play a key role in delivering Adult Social Care service improvements and supporting the wider ASC Improvement Plan.
Essential Requirements

Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

Significant experience operating at a senior leadership level within Adult Social Care.

Advanced experience in roles of a similar nature.

Proven ability to manage staff and complex situations, demonstrating sound judgement and supporting others to do the same.

Ability to establish strong working relationships across all client services and with elected members.

Demonstrated success in developing, leading, motivating, and influencing staff to meet stakeholder needs.

Evidence of successful partnership working with external organisations and stakeholders at all levels.

Substantial experience in developing and managing performance systems.

Ability to be on site as required (minimum three days weekly).

Willingness to attend evening meetings and occasional weekend events.
