Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Deputy Clinical Services Radiographer for a leading hospital in Dublin, Ireland .

Responsibilities
  • Support the Clinical Services Radiographer (CSR) in the effective operation of the modality service, including deputising in their absence and ensuring high standards of patient care.
  • Perform modality-specific examinations competently and maintain excellence in clinical practice and patient service delivery.
  • Participate in the on-call rota as required and respond effectively to service demands.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation protection principles, relevant Irish legislation, departmental protocols, and safety standards.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks, quality assurance procedures, and promptly report faults or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain professional competence through continuous professional development, in-service training, and staying updated on advancements in imaging techniques.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and patient-centred environment by adhering to infection prevention, health and safety, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Support the training, supervision and development of junior staff while fostering effective multidisciplinary working relationships.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, policy and procedure development, departmental audits, accreditation preparation and relevant meetings.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Head of Radiology Operations or Clinical Specialist, exercising sound professional judgement and initiative in accordance with service requirements.
Requirements
  • Hold a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Irish Institute of Radiography.
  • Maintain current registration with CORU as a Radiographer.
  • Possess a minimum of 6 years' post-qualification experience in the relevant imaging modality, or a postgraduate qualification in the specialty with at least 3 years' relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate experience working collaboratively within a radiography team and multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Show the ability to effectively manage both clinical and non-clinical situations.
  • Perform confidently and make sound decisions in a busy, high-pressure healthcare setting.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Provide evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and commitment to professional learning.
  • Display a strong sense of accountability, initiative and professional responsibility.
  • Communicate and work effectively with colleagues, senior management and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
