Location: Uxbridge

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 Basic Salary

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am - 5:30pm 1 Hour Unpaid Lunch 45 Hours Per Week

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Depot Manager to join a leading commercial vehicle and temperature controlled fleet operation based in Uxbridge. This role is ideal for a hands on leader with strong operational, workshop and fleet management experience within the HGV, LCV or rental sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full depot operation including workshop, fleet availability and transport coordination
• Manage and support workshop teams including technicians, drivers and administrative staff
• Ensure all vehicles, trailers and refrigeration units are maintained to the highest operational and legal standards
• Drive depot performance through effective planning, cost control and KPI management
• Maintain compliance with health & safety, DVSA and operator licence requirements
• Manage vehicle inspections, servicing schedules, breakdown response and fleet utilisation
• Ensure excellent customer service and maintain strong relationships with key clients
• Monitor depot profitability, budgets and operational efficiency
• Lead recruitment, training and development of depot staff
• Work closely with senior management to improve processes and operational performance

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Depot Manager, Fleet Manager, Workshop Manager or similar within commercial vehicles
• Strong knowledge of HGVs, LCVs, trailers and ideally refrigerated vehicle operations
• Proven leadership and people management experience
• Good understanding of fleet compliance, maintenance planning and transport operations
• Commercially aware with strong organisational and problem solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced operational environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• CPC qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
