Job Description
Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Dental Therapist to join our team on a part-time basis (three days per week). The successful candidate will deliver high-quality preventive and restorative dental care, support oral health promotion, and contribute to a positive patient experience within the practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct dental examinations and assess patients' oral health
  • Provide preventive treatments including scaling, polishing, and fluoride application
  • Carry out restorative procedures such as fillings in primary and permanent teeth
  • Extract deciduous (baby) teeth where appropriate
  • Take and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays)
  • Offer oral hygiene instruction and tailored patient advice
  • Develop and implement personalised care plans
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient recordsFollow strict cross infection control and health & safety protocols
  • Work collaboratively with dentists and the wider dental team
Working Pattern

Part time position: 3 days per week

Days to be agreed (flexible depending on practice needs)

Potential for occasional additional hours to cover leave or busy periods

Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in Dental Therapy
  • Registration with the General Dental Council (GDC)
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Professional, reliable, and well organised
Desirable Skills
  • Previous experience in a dental practice setting
  • Confidence managing a varied patient caseload
  • Familiarity with dental practice management software
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
