KYN BICKLEY was our first care which opened in February 2023. Located in Bromley, KYN BICKLEY is an 86-bedroom home offering each resident an elegant and comfortable bedroom, communal areas for dining and reclining; and inviting outdoor terraces overlooking landscaped gardens bordered by woodland. We have a further home in Fulham and three care homes under development in London.

About the opportunity

As a Dementia Lead you will be responsible for:

  • Lead person centred dementia care across the home, ensuring support reflects each resident's needs, history and abilities.
  • Promote meaningful engagement, therapeutic activities and least restrictive, non medication strategies to reduce distress.
  • Ensure strong compliance with the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS.
  • Support staff to complete mental capacity assessments and best interest decisions, ensuring documentation is lawful and accurate.
  • Champion resident autonomy, choice and involvement in care.
  • Oversee high quality dementia care plans that are personalised and strengths based.
  • Support life histories, communication profiles and behaviour support plans.
  • Audit dementia documentation and drive continuous improvement aligned with best practice.
  • Provide training, coaching and day to day guidance to staff.
  • Build confidence in communication, behaviour support and person centred approaches.
  • Encourage reflective practice and deeper understanding of dementia.
  • Support families to understand dementia and involve them in care decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with external health and dementia professionals, including memory services and community mental health teams.
  • Promote dignity, rights and emotional wellbeing for residents living with dementia.
  • Identify and elevate safeguarding concerns promptly.
  • Help minimise distress, restrictive practices and avoidable hospital admissions.
  • Act as brand ambassador who demonstrates and leads the KYN values
About you
  • Registered Nurse with active NMC PIN
  • Experience working with people living with dementia in a care setting
  • Strong knowledge of person centred dementia care
  • Good understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and best interest decision making
  • Experience developing or reviewing care plans
  • Ability to educate and support staff practice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
