Are you an experienced fresh food retail professional looking for your next challenge?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Deli Manager to join a well-established and growing retail business. This role is ideal for someone passionate about fresh food, team leadership, customer service, and maintaining the highest operational standards.

The successful candidate will support store management in delivering an exceptional fresh food offering while driving standards, performance, and customer satisfaction across the deli department.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the day to day management and operation of the deli department
  • Lead, motivate, and support deli team members to deliver excellent customer service
  • Ensure all HACCP, food safety, and health & safety procedures are fully adhered to
  • Manage stock control, ordering, waste management, and department profitability
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to maintain high operational standards
  • Monitor sales performance and departmental KPIs
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company procedures
  • Provide operational support across departments and multiple locations when required
Food Safety Responsibilities
  • Implement, maintain, and monitor food safety management systems
  • Ensure HACCP procedures and food safety audits are completed to the highest standardWork closely with external auditors and maintain compliance with all food safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure traceability standards are met
Requirements
  • Previous management experience within a deli, fresh food, or supermarket environment is essential
  • Strong understanding of sales reporting, KPIs, stock control, and traceability
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider management team
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible availability is required, including support across multiple sites and varying trading hours
