Deburr Operator

Location: Near Woking, Surrey

Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 plus excellent benefits

Our client is looking for an experienced Deburr Operator / Precision Finishing Technician to work in their Machine Shop. The role works closely with the Quality and Production departments to produce high quality end-products. This position focuses on high end cosmetic and functional finishing of tight tolerance, high value components for demanding engineering applications. The candidate will work within a small team but must also be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Hand deburring and precision finishing of CNC machined components
  • Removal of burrs, sharp edges and machining marks to cosmetic and functional standards
  • High end finishing of tight tolerance and customer critical components
  • Operation of rumbling/vibratory finishing processes where required
  • Use of hand and powered tools including files, stones, scrapers, emery, Scotch-Brite, pencil and die grinders
  • Preparation of components for anodising, coating, plating and assembly
  • Reading and working from engineering drawings and job documentation
  • Final visual and tactile inspection to ensure quality compliance
  • Maintaining excellent housekeeping and tool control standards
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Deburr Operator or Precision Finishing Technician
  • Strong background in high end cosmetic and functional finishing
  • Experience working with copper, aluminium, stainless steel, titanium, aerospace grade alloys and exotic materials
  • Knowledge of rumbling/vibratory finishing processes
  • Ability to work to tight tolerances without affecting critical dimensions
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality first mindset
  • Confidence working on high value and safety critical components

This is a full time, permanent position; 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 07:30 am - 4:00 pm.

The salary for this position is IRO £25,000 to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience and background, and excellent benefits.
