Position SummaryRappahannock Community College (RCC) is an open-entry institution providing high quality educational and training opportunities across a 12 county service region. RCC offers for credit transfer, career technical programs, distance education, dual enrollment, and workforce training. The Dean of Institutional Excellence reports directly to the President and will support the college's essential planning function through data, evaluation, and reporting. The dean serves as the official SACSCOC liaison, assists in meeting accreditation requirements, and leads the development of the college's strategic plan.
Responsibilities- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support institutional goals and improve student outcomes.
- Conduct research, interviews, surveys, web and institutional studies, and data programming.
- Ensure all Virginia Community College System (VCCS) and SCHEV reporting is complete and accurate.
- Develop and implement instruments to assess student outcomes.
- Collaborate with college committees, faculty, and staff to conduct research and develop strategies that enhance student success.
- Support the President in developing the strategic plan.
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Considerable experience conducting and using research in a higher education setting.
- Strong research skills, including data exploration, analysis, facilitating interviews, conducting surveys, web research, and database programming.
- Ability to provide clear and concise written and oral analyses of results to various audiences within and external to the college.
- Ability to conduct planning and analysis in a complex environment.
- Demonstrated ability to hold others accountable for results.
- Ability to choose effectively among courses of alternative actions based on logic and facts.
- Demonstrated commitment to academic and institutional excellence and student success.
- Effective team player and ability to maintain strong relationships with other leaders.
- Partnering and collaboration skills with faculty and staff to advance student success initiatives that improve outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Doctoral degree in a related field.
- Community college experience.
- Experience with regional accreditation and planning.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned and to assist the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
