Job Title: Data Center Technician - SHIFT WORK (Working in TikTok's Data center, providing 24x7 Break-Fix support on a 4 day on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 nights off)

Job Description

As a Data Center Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our data center infrastructure. You will be responsible for tasks such as break-fix maintenance, equipment installations, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the overall efficiency of our data center operations. Your ability to work independently and think on your feet during stressful situations will be essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform break-fix maintenance on data center equipment, including Servers, Switches, Routers, and storage devices.
  • Install, configure, and test new hardware and software components in the data center environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and network connectivity issues.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and proactively address them.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain data center standards and best practices.
  • Assist in developing and documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Methods of Procedures (MOPs).
  • Train and mentor new team members to ensure a high level of technical competency.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist in asset management activities.
  • Monitor data center infrastructure and respond to alerts and notifications.
  • Available to work any shift on a 24x7 basis, including weekends and holidays.

Essential Skills

  • Strong background in data center technologies and infrastructure.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Reliable transportation to commute to the data center location.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts as required.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift Servers up to 40lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in break-fix maintenance.
  • Knowledge of cabling and hardware commissioning.
  • Proficiency in installation and service of electronic equipment.
