Our FS client is looking for an exceptional Distributed Database Platform Engineer to join their enterprise data infrastructure team and help operate, scale, and modernize a global deployment of Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and Greenplum platforms-supporting more than 10,000+ distributed clusters. If you're passionate about automation, performance engineering, and next-generation data platforms, this role offers the scale, complexity, and impact you're looking for.

In this role, you will design and manage large-scale distributed database systems, architect hybrid and multi-cloud deployments across AWS and Azure, and build automation frameworks that enable self-healing, auto-scaling, and intelligent monitoring. You'll collaborate closely with data engineering, platform, and application teams to ensure world-class availability, security, and performance.

You will also drive modernization initiatives, including cloud-native adoption, serverless architectures, Snowflake optimization, and integration of emerging AI/ML capabilities. Your expertise will help shape platform governance, data life cycle management, and scalable operational practices across the organisation.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Deep expertise in PostgreSQL and Snowflake administration, performance tuning, and cluster optimisation
. Proven experience operating large-scale distributed systems (100K+ clusters preferred)
. Strong automation and Scripting skills (Python, Terraform, Ansible)
. Experience with IaC, CI/CD and cloud-native architectures in AWS/Azure
. Knowledge of Snowflake design patterns, migration workflows and cost optimisation
. Experience with geo-redundant databases using Patroni, GoldenGate or similar tools
. Strong understanding of data governance, security, access controls and compliance frameworks
. Excellent communication, problem-solving and cross-team collaboration skills

If you're driven by scale, innovation and engineering excellence, we'd love to hear from you.
