Database Developer

Overview

We are seeking a Database Developer to design, develop and support SQL Server database solutions within a clinical systems environment. You will work as part of an Agile team delivering high-quality, reliable database applications supporting internal and external business systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain database applications

• Write, optimise and maintain complex T-SQL queries

• Performance tuning and query optimisation

• Develop and support ETL processes

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies

• Contribute to testing, code reviews and documentation

• Support and maintain a 24/7 production environment

• Work with stakeholders to gather and translate technical requirements

Technical Skills Required

• Microsoft SQL Server (2016+)

• Advanced T-SQL development

• SSIS, SSRS and SSAS

• Data warehousing and ETL development

• Performance tuning and indexing

• Experience working in an Agile environment

Desirable Experience

• Azure, AWS or other cloud platforms

• Azure Data Factory or Databricks

• AI / Machine Learning exposure

• Power BI or other data visualisation tools

• Healthcare or clinical systems experience
