Database Architect

You will join a 5-person Database Administration (DBA) team. This team manages the client's databases, supports development teams with database-related needs, and builds internal tools.

In this role, you will support the modernization of our infrastructure by leading the migration of our critical databases to Oracle 26ai.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administration & Optimization: Manage and optimize both production and non-production databases.
• Collaboration & Support: Work closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams, providing support during critical incidents.
• Configuration Management: Adapt and evolve database configurations to meet business needs.
• Security & Compliance: Define and implement secure access strategies (IAM principles, roles, permissions, auditing) and help demonstrate NIS2 compliance within the data scope.
• Data Protection: Help design robust, tested backup and recovery strategies.
• Disaster Recovery: Regularly validate disaster recovery plans to guarantee successful restoration in the event of an outage.
• Documentation & Communication: Maintain up-to-date procedural documentation and communicate risks and solutions clearly.

This role is vital to keeping the institution's business applications running smoothly, which includes securing the monthly pension payments for approximately 2,800,000 citizens.

Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills:

• Deep knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, DataGuard, and RMAN.
• Deep knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and RDS.
• Strong knowledge of Linux.
• Experience with MS-SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Apache, and Tomcat is a plus.
• Practical experience working in Agile and Scrum environments.

Work Location & Language Requirements

• On-site Presence: Requires being physically present at the offices for a minimum of 2 days per week.
• Languages: French or Dutch speaker. You must have an active command of one of these national languages and at least a passive understanding of the other.
