Job Description
Overview

We're on a mission to make money work for everyone.

We're waving goodbye to the complicated and confusing ways of traditional banking. With our hot coral cards and get-paid-early feature, combined with financial education on social media and our award winning customer service, we have a long history of creating magical moments for our customers. We're not about selling products - we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo. We're here to make money work for everyone and we're doing things differently. For too long, banking has been obtuse, complex and opaque. We want to change that and build a bank with everyone, for everyone. Our amazing community suggests features, test the app and give us constant feedback so we can build something everyone loves. We're focused on solving problems, rather than selling financial products. We want to make the world a better place and change people's lives through Monzo.

As we continue to scale, we're looking for a Product Data Science Manager to lead one of our key product areas for Growth.

Responsibilities
  • Lead one of Monzo's growth-focused product data science teams, partnering with Product Managers, engineers and control owners in an agile environment.
  • Develop and own the product data strategy and drive data-informed decision making across the team and product area.
  • Build and improve data products and analytics to support current and future roadmaps.
  • Provide hands-on leadership with a data-driven, strategic mindset to inspire the team and customers.
  • Grow the team by hiring new members and supporting their personal development; manage Data Scientists and Data Analysts and collaborate with Analytics Engineers.
  • Champion real-time analytics and data-driven decision making across the company; ensure self-serve analytics via Looker covers 90% of day-to-day decisions.
  • Liaise with marketing, product and engineering managers to ensure the right data is collected to produce relevant business insights.
Qualifications
  • What we're looking for
  • At least 4 years of experience as a Data Science Manager, with at least 2 years managing a data team larger than 4 people
  • Strong strategic data leader who loves driving decisions
  • Experience working with executive or C-level peers and managing stakeholders across levels and disciplines
  • Autonomy to impact the future of a fast-growing, evolving business
  • Experience with a range of Data Science tools (BI, experimentation, causal inference, machine learning) and languages (Python and SQL); know when to choose the right tool
  • Experience with Marketing Mix Modeling
  • Familiarity with marketing and advertising datasets from platforms such as Facebook and Google
