Data Protection Assistant
Location:
Hybrid - London office 3 days per week (remainder remote).

Alternative option: North West-based (with regular office attendance in one of our regional offices, hybrid working, and occasional travel to London).

Package: Salary band 25k - 30k + Benefits

We are seeking a Data Protection Assistant to support our Data Protection Officer (DPO) and wider legal team. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in ensuring governance and supporting governance across a range of important areas.

You will primarily focus on Data Protection but will also contribute to other areas of corporate responsibility and governance such as ESG, Whistleblowing, and wider governance topics that arise.

You'll be assisting across several areas:

  • Supporting with Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs)
  • Assisting with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
  • Contributing to Training and Awareness programmes
  • Supporting Due Diligence and Onboarding (including acquisitions)
  • Reviewing and supporting contractual governance matters
  • Managing ICO registrations and related governance tasks
  • Preparing and maintaining management reporting
  • Assisting in other areas including ESG, Whistleblowing, and other governance topics as required

About you:

  • A good understanding of GDPR and other relevant Data Protection regulations (ideally covering both the United Kingdom and the EU), gained within a similar role in professional services or a related environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and video), with the confidence to engage openly and effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • A collaborative, approachable, and supportive team player who enjoys building relationships and contributing to a positive team culture.
  • Analytical, and organisational abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite and strong IT literacy
  • The ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively
