Data Processing & Analysis Officer

About the Role:

MPA Recruitment, on behalf of the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS), is seeking applications for a Data Processing & Analysis Officer.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to join the Data Processing & Analysis Team and support the delivery of professional data services. You will carry out data extraction, cleansing, analysis, and geospatial mapping, providing accurate and timely information to support operational performance, reporting, and strategic decision-making across NIFRS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process, analyse, and manage internal and external datasets accurately and efficiently.
  • Support the development and maintenance of NIFRS digital reports, dashboards, and data warehouse systems.
  • Conduct geospatial analysis to support operational and corporate planning.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and training on data management to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain data quality, confidentiality, and compliance with UK GDPR, FOI, and NIFRS data governance policies.
  • Prepare data for operational performance monitoring, external requests, and corporate reporting.
  • Assist in the development of methodologies for statistical and operational analysis.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure information needs are met.
  • Contribute to projects supporting NIFRS digital, data, and technology strategies.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and support internal teams with ad hoc analysis requests. Attend relevant meetings and contribute to the smooth running of the laboratory service.
What We're Looking For:

Essential Criteria

  • Level 4 qualification (e.g., Degree or HND) with research/statistics experience, plus one year relevant experience OR Level 3 qualification (e.g., A-Level or HNC) plus two years relevant experience in statistical analysis or research.
  • Strong experience in data processing, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent planning, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under multiple deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Full UK driving licence (Category B).

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working in the public sector.
  • Experience with GIS and geospatial data analysis.
  • Experience handling large and complex datasets.
