Data Platform Engineer

Starr Insurance Companies is a leading insurance and investment organization, providing commercial property and casualty insurance, including travel and accident coverage, to almost every imaginable business and industry in virtually every part of the world.

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our team. The role involves:

• Implementing and maintaining solutions leveraging Azure-based cloud architecture;
• Maintaining solutions based on the traditional MS stack;
• Eliciting business requirements from use cases;
• Root cause analysis for raised issues, and delivering the resolution;
• Building strong relationships with key stakeholders;
• Collaborating closely with business stakeholders and the Analytics Engineering team to understand insights needs and use cases.

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years' experience working within a data function in London Market Insurance;
• Sound understanding of data warehousing concepts;
• Contributions to well-designed data platform and data warehouse solutions;
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder relationship-building abilities;
• Experience working within an agile environment, utilizing tools such as Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and source control;
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Microsoft Engineering-related qualifications;
• London Market Certifications beneficial.
