Job Description
Data Governance Business Analyst is required to join a large-scale IT Security Remediation programme and provide data models and data catalogues, map data flows, establish data segmentation, and embed sustainable data governance processes.
You will be responsible for:
- Building a single central inventory of data to give full visibility of all data across all entities.
- Creating clear, high-level data models and catalogues to organise customer, financial, operational, and marketing data across all systems.
- Keeping data flow maps updated and connected directly to the central inventory for accuracy.
- Separating how data is processed and stored based on its sensitivity to better protect confidential information.
- Building strong processes to track data and automatically enforce how long it is kept across all business units.
- Fixing underlying process gaps and assigning clear owners so data records stay up to date.
- Working directly with stakeholders and delivering outputs hands-on.
Required Experience
- Extensive experience in data governance, data modelling, data discovery, data inventory builds, and data catalogue creation.
- Experience in gap analysis, data discovery, and mapping across separate business units or decentralised environments with varying levels of data maturity.
- Deep understanding of data classification, sensitivity-based segmentation, data lineage, retention rules, and data protection principles.
- Experience establishing governance frameworks, remediating root causes, and embedding enduring BAU workflows across technical and non-technical business teams.
- Experience using a wide range of data cataloguing and documentation tools.
