Data Engineer (Google Cloud Platform) - Amsterdam - 6 months

Global Enterprise Partners is currently looking for a Cloud Data Engineer & Coach to guide our team through the transition from on-premises to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role is crucial in supporting and upskilling our team, ensuring a smooth migration of our SQL Server and data ingestion/processing pipelines to the cloud. The ideal candidate is both technically strong in GCP and an effective mentor, capable of explaining cloud concepts, best practices, and helping the team adopt mature, scalable, and well-governed cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the migration of SQL Server and data pipelines to GCP
• Coach and mentor team members on GCP services, architecture, and best practices.
• Help transition the team from a shadow-IT approach to a structured, standards-driven cloud operation.
• Provide hands-on support for data ingestion, transformation, and processing workflows.
• Establish and document best practices for cloud data engineering.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform ( BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, etc.).
• Experience with SQL Server, data pipeline migrations, Python and IDMC.
• Hands-on knowledge of data engineering frameworks and ETL tools.
• Excellent coaching and mentoring skills, able to explain complex topics clearly.
• Familiarity with cloud governance, security, and operational best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical team members.
• Independent, able to review his/her own work
• Fluent in English
