Data Engineer

Conexus is partnered with a global FMCG client, that are currently expanding their Data & BI capabilities. On that basis, we are searching for a Data Engineer to join them on a permanent basis in Budapest, Hungary.

As a Data Engineer, you'll be designing, developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL processes alongside a team of data analysts and cross-functional stakeholders. The aim is to enable easy access to high-calibre data for business decision makers across multiple subsidiaries.

This is a collaborative role where you can make your mark - whether you're designing new ETL routines from scratch, extending existing data flows, or mentoring colleagues - all while staying up to date with industry trends.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop, implement and optimise ETL processes

• Provide operational support and troubleshoot data pipeline issues

• Develop and manage technical documentation

• Support cross-functional initiatives with your technical expertise

• Ensure data quality, compliance and robustness

• Provide technical guidance to less experienced team members and collaborate closely with data analysts

• Engage with stakeholders across the business to translate data needs into technical solutions

What we're looking for:

• 3-5 years' experience in a Data Engineer or related role

• Strong SQL skills (with subquery, aggregations, etc.)

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, data lakes and Power BI

• An analytical mind with a passion for turning complex data into valuable insight

• Collaborative team player with strong communication skills

• Willingness to learn and grow alongside evolving technologies

• Experience within a multinational and cross-functionally complex business is a plus
