Role Summary

We are seeking a Data Engineer with 7+ years of experience in designing, developing, and supporting modern cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Snowflake, DBT, SQL, Airflow, Python, and Git-based development practices. The role requires a balanced mix of hands-on development and production support responsibilities to ensure reliable and scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Development

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake, DBT, SQL, and Python.
  • Develop and optimize data models using Data Vault and dimensional modelling techniques.
  • Build reusable and efficient DBT transformations and frameworks.
  • Integrate enterprise applications and source systems into the data platform.
  • Implement performance tuning and optimization across pipelines and data warehouse layers.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
  • Support CI/CD deployment processes using GitHub.

Data Operations & Production Support

  • Monitor daily pipeline executions, data loads, and workflow schedules.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to Snowflake, DBT, Airflow, and data quality issues.
  • Investigate data discrepancies, failed jobs, and performance issues.
  • Support stakeholder requests related to data access, permissions, and data availability.
  • Coordinate with upstream and downstream teams for issue resolution.
  • Contribute to operational runbooks and knowledge repositories.

Data Quality & Governance

  • Implement validation checks and data quality controls.
  • Support governance, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring operational issues.

Required Skills

  • 7+ years of Data Engineering/Data Warehouse experience.

Strong expertise in:

  • Snowflake
  • DBT
  • SQL
  • Airflow
  • GitHub
  • CI/CD
  • Working knowledge of Python.
  • Experience with application/data integrations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Location Gothenburg Sweden onsite
