Data Centre Shift Engineer - Birmingham - Permanent - £40,000-£45,000
We are working with a European data centre operator that is rapidly expanding its footprint across the continent, focusing onedge computing infrastructurethat brings digital services closer to end-users. This company is building a network ofsustainable, low-latency data centresand currently has projects in Germany, France, the UK, the Netherlands, and Spain.

Responsibilities:
- Act as the senior point of contact for on-site operations, ensuring continuity and adherence to processes during shifts.
- Oversee daily activities, including equipment maintenance, system checks, and customer support tasks.
- Coordinate with teams and contractors to ensure timely task completion and resolve operational issues.
- Perform hybrid tasks involving engineering and ITC operations, including monitoring and maintaining critical infrastructure systems (e.g., power, cooling, and network).
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, escalating complex problems when necessary.
Skills & experience:
- Strong technical knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including power, cooling, and networking.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address both technical and operational challenges.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage site operations effectively.
- Clear communication skills for coordinating with teams, contractors, and customers.
- Ability to work autonomously, taking initiative to ensure operational continuity.
