The Role & Responsibilities:
PwC is seeking an experienced Data Architect to join a transformation programme. This is a key role supporting a multi-year, agile transformation with a strong greenfield mindset, aimed at delivering a Middleware MVP to go live this year.
You will play a pivotal part in shaping and aligning the data architecture across new and Legacy platforms, with an initial focus on data flows, integrations, and understanding the current "as-is" data estate. The programme includes a cross-functional team spanning architecture, delivery enablement, requirements, customer journey mapping, and process mapping.
What you'll do:
- Own and define data architecture deliverables across the programme, ensuring alignment with evolving solution architecture.
- Map and document the current as-is data estate, including data domains, sources, flows, and integration points.
- Ensure strong alignment between Salesforce and Legacy system data architecture, with a focus on seamless integration and data consistency.
- Collaborate closely with data modellers, solution architects, SMEs, platform managers, and data business analysts to build a comprehensive understanding of the data landscape.
- Deliver critical data architecture inputs to support the HMod architecture transition, focusing on integration touchpoints between Salesforce and Legacy platforms.
- Identify data constraints, risks, issues, and blockers that may impact proposed solution architecture options and delivery timelines.
- Support detailed design and build planning for Middleware MVP, ensuring data architecture is delivery-ready.
- Work in close partnership with the Enterprise Data Architect, ensuring alignment with enterprise data strategy, governance, and standards.
Key Accountabilities, Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Data Architect working across complex enterprise environments.
- Strong capability in data integration architecture, including cross-system data flows, interfaces, and dependencies.
- Experience supporting large-scale transformation programmes within financial services (insurance experience highly desirable).
- Strong understanding of customer data and operational data domains such as sales, servicing, claims, and customer journeys.
- Ability to engage effectively with UK-based stakeholders, including senior SMEs and business/technology leaders.
- Comfortable working in Agile delivery environments and fast-moving greenfield programmes.
Desirable/Nice to Have:
- Salesforce data architecture experience (advantageous).
- Experience with modern data platforms, analytics enablement, and enterprise-wide data strategy alignment.
- Experience delivering architecture inputs for Middleware or integration MVPs in regulated environments.
