Job Title: Data & Research Governance Manager
Salary: £34,500 - £44,850 FTE (£27,600 - £35,880 pro rata)
Location: Cambridge, Hybrid (2-3 days a week in Cambridge)
Contract: Permanent, Part time (28 hours per week)
Are you ready to manage the strategic coordination and delivery of complex, high-value research programmes across internal teams and external research partners?
Join us as our Data and Research Governance Manager, where your expertise will help ensure research outputs are effectively translated into business impact. We are looking for an individual to ensure best practice in programme management is applied to English research programmes involving external partners, which supports the implementation of the English strategic aim to break into new segments with innovative new products and services backed.

About the role
As our Data & Research Governance Manager, you'll:
- Create, maintain, and manage the processes and procedures relating to identifying and tracking opportunities for operationalisation of research outputs
- Ensure record keeping and providing audit capability for processes and activities.
- Ensure processes are in place to enable ongoing GDPR compliance for all shared research data, e.g. regulating and monitoring data anonymisation and minimisation steps
- Act as a key contributor to the drafting of policies and agreements related to the management of the Cambridge English-ALTA Research Programme and other similar programmes
- Progress tracking and reporting of technology transfer activities and outcomes to governing bodies within CUP&A.
About you
You will have some experience of project or programme management, and some knowledge or interest in acquiring knowledge of language teaching, learning, and assessment, as well as knowledge of machine learning and other aspects of artificial intelligence and/or computer science. You combine strong stakeholder management skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
You'll bring:
- Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders (internal and external) effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent planning, co-ordination, prioritisation, and decision-making skills
- Experience of working in a busy and complex professional environment
- Experience of working with data and the sharing of data across organisations, and an understanding of GDPR
