In this key role, you will:
  • Provide analysis and reporting on key business data, performance trends, and KPIs across the University.
  • Support senior leaders, including the Dean of Students, Dean of Academic Performance, and Directors of School Operations, through insightful reports and dashboards.
  • Develop data visualisations, dashboards, and performance monitoring tools that inform strategic decisions and improve outcomes.
  • Contribute to projects involving learning analytics, academic performance, student outcomes, and external reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure high quality, consistent data interpretation and use.
We're looking for someone who:
  • Holds a degree (preferably in a numerate subject).
  • Has strong analytical and data visualisation skills, with experience using Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Communicates complex data clearly and confidently to a range of audiences.
  • Is highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience of extracting and transforming data with SQL.
  • Knowledge of the Higher Education sector and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Experience with the R programming language and/or the SITS student record system.
  • A collaborative approach to cross departmental working and problem solving.

The appointed candidate will normally be employed through our subsidiary company BCU Support Services Limited, a wholly subsidiary of Birmingham City University. Appointees with prior LGPS membership who wish to enter the LGPS scheme will be able to do so and will be employed by Birmingham City University directly.
