How this is achieved

As a Dance teacher, you will embody our core values and create a happy, high-energy Dance classes for our students building their Dance and performance skills as well as life skills, confidence and exposure to culture.

As a core teacher you will also have areas of responsibility associated with the running of the office/ company to aid the smooth behind the scenes elements.

The position is an 80% role consisting of 32 hours a week, Mondays to Fridays 20 hours of teaching taking place from 4.15pm- 8.30pm.

Overview of Responsibilities

Teaching

Teacher preparation of classes in advance using lesson plan templates

Checking and preparation of teaching spaces and equipment

Teaching of best-in-class lessons

Teaching of ad hoc school workshops

Student Nurturing/ Knowledge & Record Keeping

Taking registers at the start of every class

Following up of absent students

Ensuring students are following and complying with uniform policy.

Completion of evaluation form with detailed notes of classes and student observations

Writing and following up incident reports as necessary

Sharing of key academy messages to students (informed by weekly meetings and weekly emails)

Parent Communication

Post class interactions with parents.

Regular follows up with parents

Deliver parent/teacher meetings

Open Classes / Showcases

Deliver best in class open classes

Co-ordination with voice and drama teachers to ensure synergies across the showcase

By class adaption of showcases if necessary

Choreograph, rehearse & deliver best in class showcases

Office administration/ support

Attending weekly team meetings

Projects to aid business growth including online support

Office administrative help

Curriculum and showcase material assistance

Showcase support- technical briefings, props and costume sourcing
